How to get to Amasra from Istanbul?
There are several ways to get to Amasra from Istanbul:
- By Car: The distance from Istanbul to Amasra by road is about 450 kilometers. You can get there via the D020 and E80 highways. The drive usually takes about 6-7 hours, depending on traffic and the route you choose. It’s a scenic drive, with views of the countryside and coast. - By Bus: Several bus companies operate services from Istanbul to Amasra. The journey usually takes around 7-8 hours. Buses depart from Istanbul’s main bus station, Istanbul Otogar. Once you arrive at Bartın (the provincial capital), you can take a dolmuş (a type of shared taxi) or a local bus to Amasra, which is about 17 kilometers away.
- By Plane: The nearest airports to Amasra are Zonguldak (Caycuma) Airport and Kastamonu Airport, but they don’t have direct flights from Istanbul. The most commonly used airport for reaching this region is Ankara’s Esenboğa Airport. From there, you can rent a car or take a bus to there. The drive from Ankara to there takes about 3-4 hours.
