It was reported by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation that due to the UEFA Champions League Final, IGA Istanbul Airport broke the all-time air traffic record yesterday with 1594 takeoffs and landings.

A post was made on the Twitter account of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation regarding the takeoff and landing numbers of IGA the Airport.




In the announcement stating that due to the UEFA Champions League Final, IGA Istanbul Airport broke the all-time air traffic record yesterday with 1594 takeoffs and landings, the following was recorded:

‘Our Turkish carriers, with the contributions of our General Directorate, played a significant role in this traffic with their extra scheduled and charter flights.



Passengers from all over the world to Istanbul Airport for UEFA Champions League Final

Inter and Manchester City fans arrived by plane due to the UEFA Champions League final match. It caused congestion at Istanbul Airport.

Fans of both teams came to Istanbul from different countries around the world due to the final match.




While fans continued to arrive on scheduled flights, numerous unscheduled planes from Italy and England landed at the Airport.

Many private jets also transported passengers from different countries around the world to the Airport from yesterday to today due to the UEFA Champions League final match.
