Loryma Ancient City
This is a historical place where boats from Marmaris to Bodrum stay overnight. If you want to reach the ruins of the ancient city of Loryma by land, you must first drive from Söğüt to Taşlıca and then walk a little. Bozukkale Bay is one of the most important stopping points for blue cruise boats and yachts today because it has a sheltered position against the wind. The bay, also, used to have strategic importance due to its location.
The Athenian navy stayed here in 1412 BC, and the navy gathered here before the Knidos naval battle in 395 BC. There are three restaurants serving blue cruise boats and yachts in the bay today. Loryma Ancient city ruins are at the entrance point of the bay, on the hill overlooking the bay. The most important ruin that has survived from the city is the castle. It is 120 meters long and 10 meters wide and in very good condition. The castle was built to protect the entrance of the bay and was fortified over time.
